文法説明:名詞の複数形の作り方

• ”f”または”fe”で終わる名詞を複数形にするとき”ves”にする（e.g leafe-leaves）
• 例外３つ（”chefs” ”cliffs” ”roofs”)

Why回答例

• 619 partner

If you went into business, would you prefer to have a partner or to be alone?

①　If I went into business,　I’d prefer to have a partner.

or

②　If　I went into business,　I’d prefer to be alone.

why?

①　Because I don’t do things alone.

②　Because I prefer to work alone.

先生が例文で「「パートナーがいたら私が未知のトラブルを抱えても助けて貰えるから」と言っていたので私も真似しようと思ったのですが咄嗟に口から出てこず、「一人じゃできないから」と幼稚な返しをしてしまいました。。。

今日は英文が聞き取れたけどちょっとどういう状況か悩んだのが下記２つ。

• If a friend buys you a drink in a bar, do you normally insist on giving them the money or you just buy them a drink the next time?
• What would happen if you went on board ship to say goodbye to a friend and you remained on board after the ship had left port?

特に２番目の文章は自分で対処法を答えなければいけないのかと勘違いして少し緊張しましたが先生がそのままリードしてくれたのでほっとしました。
